Our Marriage Legalities

Legal civil ceremonies in Ireland require all the necessary paper work that couples will need to fill out and, in some cases, have with them at the time of the wedding. Most importantly, an application to be married must be made 3 months in advance of the ceremony.

 

How and where to apply

Three months' notification can be given to any Registrar but must be given in person. Civil partners who do not have to give 3 months' notification must attend the Registrar at least 5 days (or as determined by the Registrar) before the intended date of the ceremony.

Our (famous) Weather

As you probably already know, the Irish weather can be unpredictable and change very quickly. It rains a lot but never too badly. We strongly advise that you bring a jumper/pullover and rain jacket with you if you are going to be out in the countryside for long stretches. The good news is it never get too hot or too cold in Ireland. The warmest months are July and August when the average temperature is between 64 and 68°F (17.7-20°C). Throughout July there’s about 18 hours of daylight and it won’t get dark until about 11pm. However, in January and February, the temperatures will normally reach an average of about 46°F (7.7°C) and can sometimes lead to light snow.
