A White Christmas Afternoon Tea at Luttrellstown Castle

Afternoon Tea Luttrellstown

As the days grow shorter and the winter chill settles in, there’s no better way to embrace the festive season than by indulging in a delightful afternoon tea at Luttrellstown Castle. This year, we invite you to step inside our historic castle, where a cosy atmosphere awaits, complete with a crackling fire, enchanting decorations, and our exquisite Festive Afternoon Tea.

This year’s Festive Afternoon Tea holds special significance as we commemorate the 200th anniversary of Luke White, the castle's first owner outside of the Luttrell family. A well-connected bookseller and owner of a printing press, Luke White achieved his wealth through his unique involvement with the lottery. Legend has it that he once stopped the Belfast coach to purchase unsold tickets, convinced that one of them was bound to be a winner. His intuition paid off, and he soon found himself in possession of a fortune.

With his newfound wealth, Luke White transformed Luttrellstown Castle into a magnificent estate, renaming the demesne Woodlands and making significant improvements to both the castle and its surroundings. His legacy and vision for this enchanting estate are woven into the very fabric of the castle, and we are thrilled to pay tribute to him this December.

Join us for this exclusive experience on four select dates: December 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd—for an afternoon filled with seasonal delights. There will be two sittings available at 1 pm and 4 pm.
